Lourdes Ramírez is a journalist based in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, who specializes in violence prevention and social coexistence, transparency and investigative journalism. She has been a consultant for the UN and nonprofit organizations on human rights, human development, violence against women, democratic governance and election monitoring, and a professor of Communication Sciences at the University of San Pedro Sula.

Lourdes has received numerous national and international awards for her reporting.  Her honors include the "Courage Award 2015," awarded by the International Women’s Media Foundation; the "National Communication Award for Equality and Against Violence Against Women," awarded by the Tribune of Women Against Femicide and Oxfam International; the "National Journalism Award," awarded by the National Congress of Honduras; and the first "Initiative Prize for Investigative Journalism in the Americas," sponsored by the International Center for Journalists and Connectas. In the last six years Lourdes has worked in television news in Honduras as a news director and reporter.
